about our FLATBACKS

Flatback studs are push-pin style earrings that are ideal for new (and old) piercings, especially for your cartilage, conch, helix and tragus piercings.

 

At Jade Trau, we create lifetime jewelry for lifestyle piercings. Our signature Jade Trau pieces have been redesigned into new piercing flatback earrings that are built to last forever.

 

Our flatback piercing studs are super comfortable to keep on for long-term daily wear, even in your sleep. When you're ready to remove the flatback piercing stud, we can help you convert it into a butterfly back stud so you can play around with it and style it on a different spot in your existing earscape. The possibilities are endless!

WHAT IS THE EAR PIERCING PROCESS LIKE?

We aim to provide a piercing process that is empathetic, personal, and leaves you feeling comfortable. We exclusively use clean and sterilized needle piercing technique to ensure that your piercing is safe, less painful, and will heal easily. We’ll walk you through all the steps of your piercing, providing a personalized consultation that will make sure you have a new piercing that is authentically you.

WHAT ARE THE EARRINGS MADE OF?

We've re-created our signature studs into piercing flatbacks and are all made of 18-karat gold with natural, white diamond(s). You can view our selection of available piercing studs here.

WHO IS THE PIERCING SPECIALIST?

We work closely with our professionally-licensed piercers, who are not just a piercer but a stylist when it comes to their piercing services. This is not a separate add-on service, it's built into all of Jade Trau's piercing appointments. We personalized each piercing to each of our client's ear and face shape, more about this in the next question!

What is Personalized piercing?

Our piercer will guide you through the decision process once your in the chair. She will curate the perfect earscape for you depending on what you want and personally recommend the perfect piercing placement on your unique face and ear shape. Every piercing is treated with care and completely catered to you and your lifestyle.

WHERE ON YOUR BODY CAN YOU GET PIERCED?

At the moment we can only pierce any where on your ears and nose. Some popular ear piercing areas are cartilage, snake bites on the lobes, and rook!

ARE THERE ANY AGE REQUIREMENT?

At the moment we offer ear piercings to ages 2 and up. However, any minors under 18 years old must have a legal guardian / parent accompany them and will be required to fill out a minor consent form prior to your appointment.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We offer complimentary piercing service for every piercing stud purchase at our events. A single piercing stud starts off at $380. You can view our selection of available piercing studs and pricing here.

WHEN ARE THE PIERCING EVENTS? DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

You can check out our event calendar here on our upcoming piercing events. If you don't see any near you, don't worry! We do travel throughout many main cities around the country so sign up for our our newsletter and follow us on social media to stay up to date on when we will be in your neighborhood. WHAT IS THE AFTER CARE PROCEDURE?

To care for your new piercing, please follow the 4 rules below:

1. Keep It Clean! Less is more when it comes to your new piercing, so letting the warm water from your shower cleanse your piercing will be plenty to keep it nice & clean.

2. Be Mindful of Your Mask! Mask straps can be harsh on a new piercing, so be sure to lift the strap fully off at your ear when removing to prevent irritation to your piercing.

3. Don't Twist & Turn! Give your new piercing a little R&R and let it chill. Avoid touching and twisting your jewelry to prevent irritation and trauma.

4. Don't Sleep On It! Do your best to avoid sleeping on your new piercing. We know that's not always possible, but if you can, it will help the healing process! Prolonged pressure can cause infection and irritation.

WHEN CAN I CHANGE MY EARRING?

Let it heal! You will need to wait until your piercing is healed. It will vary from person to person and will also be dependent on the area of the piercing. Lobe piercings usually heal quite quickly. Cartilage, helix, rook, daith or industrial piercing will require a little more patience.
